Gold Resource Corporation currently processes all of the Arista underground mine ore through the flotation circuit at the Company's El Aguila mill. The plant was built near the mine site and consists of two separate production circuits: a differential flotation circuit (sulphide ores) and an agitated leach circuit (oxide ores). The current nominal capacity of the flotation circuit is 1,800 tonnes per day, while the agitated leach circuit has a nominal capacity of 300 tonnes per day.
The concentration of a mineral in the ore body (i.e. % or g/t) 2% copper and 1.5 gram per tonne gold: Strike Length: The length in which the mineralization is found in the ore body (horizontally) 500 meters: Depth: The depth in which the mineralization is found in the ore body (vertically) 200 meters: Width
Four ore deposits and two additional occurrences of a sole ore-bearing field Grades of gold - 2,5-36.1 g/t, silver - 200-650 g/t, antimony - 5.0-19.8%, arsenic - 4.5-21.0%, lithium – 0.12-0.31% Resources and the amount are approved by the State Commission on Mineral Reserves of the Former Soviet Union in Moscow
The mine opened in 1952, and complex ores containing zinc, copper, lead, gold and silver are mined there. The Boliden Area 2020 In 2020, around 1,898 ktonnes of ore were processed to form metal concentrates containing zinc , copper , lead , gold , silver and tellurium .
Other gold mines use underground mining, where the ore is extracted through tunnels or shafts. South Africa has the world's deepest hard rock gold mine up to 3,900 metres (12,800 ft) underground. At such depths, the heat is unbearable for humans, and air conditioning is required for the safety of the workers. The first such mine to receive air conditioning was
14. Polaris mine. The Polaris mine was the name of the huge underground zinc mine located on Little Cornwallis Island, in the Canadian northern territory of Nunavut, near the Arctic Circle. The mine starting opened in 1981 and closed in 2002, after more than 20 years of zinc production and is now abandoned. 15. This abandoned mine in Russia
The standard cyanide leach process consists of grinding the ore to about. 80% – 200 mesh, mixing the ore/water grinding slurry with about 2 pounds. per ton of sodium cyanide and enough quick lime to keep the pH of the solution. at about 11.0. At a slurry concentration of 50% solids, the slurry passes.
During the 25 years of active pit mining, the average annual production is 519,000 ounces of gold, over 9 million ounces of silver and 83 million pounds of zinc. At $1,350 gold/oz, $20 silver/oz, and $1 zinc/lb the pre-tax NPV is $2.4 billion at a 5% discount rate with an IRR of 12.6%. The life of mine operating cost is $628 per ounce with an All-In-Sustaining-Cost of $662 per ounce.

The major sources of silver are lead ores, copper ores, lead-zinc ores and copper-nickel ores found mostly in Mexico, Australia, Bolivia, Serbia, Peru, Chile, China, and Poland. Silver is produced mainly as a byproduct of the electrolytic refining of gold, nickel, copper and zinc in the ores. In some places it is produced by the Parkes Process used to refine lead bullion. Silver meant for commercial purposes must be at least 99.9% pure.
At White’s Hope potentially ore grade gold was intersected in WHC003 with 11 metres of 1.4g/t Gold (Au), including a 3m down hole length of 3.6g/t Au and 2m at 5g/t Au. Previously unknown zinc mineralization was also discovered including one metre intervals of 11.8% and 4.1% Zn. The results suggested that the ore zone may plunge to the NW from the south-eastern pit. The gold mineralization in this area is a new discovery.
Alaska has five major metal mines in operation: Red Dog zinc-lead mine, Fort Knox gold mine, Pogo gold mine, Kensington gold mine, and Greens Creek silver mine. Annually, they produced 34 million tons of ore combined in 2012. Two mines – Kensington and Red Dog – are remote, having no connection to the highway system or to established
Contemporary metal mining is dominated by iron ore, copper and gold, with 2 billion tons of iron ore, nearly 20 million tons of copper and 2,000 tons of gold produced every year.
Through 1946, 63,795,241 tons of ore have produced 8,580,226 tons of lead, 5,194,125 tons of zinc, 538,040,847 ounces of silver, and 164,658 ounces of gold.
Historically, mercury has been widely used in placer gold mining to form mercury-gold amalgam with smaller gold particles, thereby increasing the rate of gold recovery. In the 1960s, large-scale mercury use stopped. In artisanal and small-scale gold mining (ASGM), however, mercury is still used, often clandestine, gold prospecting. It is estimated that 45,000 metric tons of mercury used in California for placer mining have not been recovered.
In 2017, the mine output was 2.63 Mta of ore, with lead, copper, gold and silver being produced in addition to zinc. The Tara Mine in Ireland is Europe‘s largest zinc mine. The ore is extracted there from a depth of about 1000 m (Fig. 18). Boliden is also the largest producer of lead in the EU with about 60 kt from Garpenberg and Tara, as well as the Renström, Kristineberg and Maurliden mines in the Boliden Area in Sweden.
